stoop and slope

Our front stoop is done, and I forgot to show you.  Such a huge difference from where we started.

Last night a storm was rolling in while we were picking vegetables.  I snapped this with my left hand while I picked fistfuls of sungold tomatoes to bring in before we saw lightning strike.  We just love this garden and this space.  Earlier in the evening we drove out to the dump in Rougemont and it was the prettiest drive, like being on a rural vacation.  To the dump.  NC Scenic Byway.  For the win.

We also got the last light fixture up in the early hours this morning. Lights on and off pictured below from this morning.  But we wander through this part of the house feeling sort of lost-- where are we?  Do we live here?  It will take time to sink in!

Even though we had extensive foundation work done early on, there is and will always be a steep slope to the floor in this living room.  We were laughing that it's a fun house.  Once we had the dark metal media stand with the TV in place, we could see how dramatically it leaned.  I found some clear stackable risers to try under the table to see if we can visually level it out.  But hey, who cares, it's our fun house!
