moving up

The movers came (again) yesterday and moved the rest of our stuff in from storage pods.  I can't believe it.  We slept in our own bed last night.

We are still reeling from the anxiety of prepping for this next phase, but we were able to celebrate a little.  Since the boys are away with grandparents for a week of summer vacation, we crashed around unpacking for a while and making a mess, then snuck out for a dinner date at the Bleu Olive, then back home for more unpacking and rearranging furniture.  Kevin fell asleep and I stayed up late working on the kitchen and fussing in the living room.  It's really a luxury to be tending to finer details at this point!

I don't expect a lot of progress from contractors this week since it's a holiday, which means the bathroom won't be finished yet, but we'll keep working on everything we can do ourselves.  I'll be working on a rug for the bedroom and arranging the furniture in the living room.

Meanwhile the garden is exploding!  We are so proud of all of the tomatoes, sweet zucchini, watermelon vine, and new seedlings coming up.  This abundant summer project cheers us up every single day when we go to check on it.

And our sweet Finley turns 4 today, away at "camp" in the woods with his Pops.  And Milo is living his best life with crackers, long naps, and a baby pool at Grammy and Papa's.  I miss them but I'm excited to welcome them home to a more complete space for our family.
